Outdoor Education

Outdoor education is an important facet of learning at PUC Elementary. Our outdoor education trips are full of science, history, and learning from nature.

Outdoor education trips usually start in 4th grade with a one-night trip to a historical location, such as Fort Ross or Sutter’s Fort. Students in 5th-8th grade go on a 3-4 night trip at varied locations, such as Albion Field Station near Mendocino, Leoni Meadows Camp in the California foothills, or the Monterey Bay area.

Our goal through our outdoor education program is to make science, history, and other academic topics come alive through students’ interactions with their surroundings. Gaining first-hand knowledge and experience can inspire a life-long love of learning.
